HISTORY

Little Mountain Preschool was started in 2013 by three preschool teachers, They shared the same interests and philosophies about education and everyday life. They shared the same love for teaching children by allowing them to be free to experience their individuality: experiencing play in a variety of creative ways while developing a positive self-image, independence, gaining self-control, making independent decisions in a safe place where they are able to express their emotions as well as frustrations in a trusting environment where they are never judged and always guided.

PHILOSOPHY

Our cheerful setting provides a place for children to develop a love of learning, confidence, self-worth and respect, a concern for others, mastery of developmentally appropriate tasks and a playful childhood experience. Our goal is to provide a preschool experience that prepares children for future success, in school and in life, allowing them to solve problems in a safe and loving environment where they are able practice how to get along with others, be competent responsible individuals and to make decisions based on their unique needs.

OUTDOORS

​

We have an acre of outdoor space with an organic garden, vegetables we plant together and eat.  We climb, have a fire pole, trails, hills, sandbox, slides and ropes to climb.

 

INSIDE

 

One large light filled classroom with an atmosphere to encourage exploration, creativity, curiosity and friendships.
